Not much to write... (440km to drive)

This morning we had another look at some of the sites in Mount Morgan.
A few more words about the mine. On the picture below you see the large chimney, it is the highest chimney in Australia. It has been even higher before the top fell of because of a thunder stroke. The actual mountain has once even been higher than this chimney - now it is digged away.

There have been several rope bridges over the Dee River. These bridges were built by the mining company to ensure workers had no excuse not to come to work when there was a flooding.

Here is another view of the old gold storehouse.

After a walk on the graveyard we head on towards Gympie. We decide to take the inbound route through the mountains following Highway 13. This is a windy road not always in good condition. So we cannot drive so fast.

But there are many wonderful views.

On the way there is tiny little restored train station in the middle of nowhere.

And nearby this bridge...

Today we see so many bush fires, that on part of our way there is a dust over the whole landscape - from the fire smoke. Most if not all of these fires are man made - as the big one below. Sometimes we almost have to drive through these fires.

Due to the road condition and some other issues, we travel slow and will not reach Gympie today. We enjoy the beautiful sunset and rest in the village of Goomeri.
